Screening for Plagiarism
Manuscripts submitted to JCSIS - Journal of Computer Science and Intelligent Systems will be checked to ensure originality and to prevent plagiarism. The screening process is conducted using text similarity detection software, such as Turnitin and/or other supporting software, before the manuscript proceeds to the next stage of the editorial process.
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.
Similarity results are evaluated using plagiarism detection software and editorial judgment.
The editorial board assesses similarity context, citation quality, and ethical compliance.
Originality of Manuscript
JCSIS only accepts original manuscripts for publication. Submitted articles must not have been previously published and must not be under review or submitted for publication in another journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted manuscript is an original scholarly work and free from plagiarism, duplication, fabrication, falsification, and unethical textual reuse.
Plagiarism Screening Process
The journal uses text similarity detection software to identify plagiarism, duplication, redundant publication, or the use of text without proper citation. Manuscripts proven to contain plagiarism or text taken without acknowledging the original source may be rejected by the editorial board before proceeding to publication.
Similarity Threshold
If the manuscript similarity level is below 25%, the manuscript may proceed to the next editorial stage. However, the editorial board may still return the manuscript to authors for citation correction, paraphrasing, source clarification, or content adjustment if problematic similarity is identified.
If the manuscript similarity level exceeds 25%, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for substantial revision or rejected without proceeding to the editorial review process. Authors are advised to revise the manuscript thoroughly and ensure that all quotations, paraphrases, references, and textual uses comply with academic standards.
Editorial Assessment
The editorial board analyzes every plagiarism or similarity case identified during the editorial process. If plagiarism, duplication, or the use of text without adequate citation is detected by the editor or reviewer at any stage before publication, the authors may be asked to rewrite the relevant sections, provide proper references, or clarify the source of the text.
The similarity percentage is calculated using plagiarism detection software and reconsidered by the editorial board. The final editorial decision is not based solely on the percentage score but also on the context of similarity, citation quality, paraphrasing accuracy, source attribution, and the authors’ compliance with scholarly publication ethics.
